Are you a safety-minded individual who loves to nerd out on compliance regulations? Do you have a knack for keeping people on their toes while keeping them safe? If you answered "yes" to these questions, we want you to join our team as our Transportation Safety and Compliance Coordinator.
You'll be responsible for keeping our fleet of box trucks and company drivers in tip-top shape. You should have an aptitude for learning all about new government regulations in the industry, and you'll need to have a sharp eye for identifying and mitigating risks. Bonus points if you know how to dance the "Safety Dance" and understand some Spanish (you haven’t watched all those telenovelas for nothing).
Job Responsibilities:
- Keep our drivers on their toes (literally and figuratively) with regular safety training sessions and safety meetings
- Develop and implement procedures and practices that promote safety and compliance
- Stay up-to-date on all applicable laws and regulations (even the boring ones) and make sure our team is in compliance
- Conduct periodic equipment and process audits to identify potential hazards and mitigate risks
- Investigate accidents and incidents and determine root causes
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements
- Communicate effectively with drivers, customers, and other stakeholders (you'll need to be fluent in "trucker slang" - heard of the bear in the bushes?)
Requirements:
- High school diploma
- Excellent written and verbal English
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Trucking industry safety experience preferred
- Must be able to work 2 PM - 10 PM shift Monday to Friday
- Onsite work during onboarding process, with possibility for hybrid work
