- Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, applicants must:
- Have received an invitation to attend and/or present at an academic conference.
- Obtain written confirmation from their course coordinator that the conference is relevant to their degree.
- Have completed at least 37.5 points and one semester of study in the GSHSS (Advanced Standing does not contribute).
- Agree to report conference outcomes to their academic school upon return.
- Submit receipts for approved expenses (conference registration, airfares, accommodation).
- Ensure travel aligns with DFAT safety advice for overseas destinations.
- Submit a complete application with all required documentation.
How to Apply
Applicants may apply only after receiving an invitation to attend or present at a conference. To apply, students must submit:
- Written confirmation from conference organizers that they have been invited to attend or present.
- Written confirmation from their course coordinator that the conference is relevant to their degree.
- Paid receipts for conference registration fees.
- Paid receipts for economy return flights or equivalent overland transport (only a percentage will be considered if personal travel is included).
- Paid receipts for accommodation during the conference (excluding costs outside the specified timeframe).
Additional Information:
- Retrospective applications will be accepted for travel in the same year as the application.
- The grant can only be received once during the course.
- Late applications will not be accepted (except for retrospective applications for conferences attended in the last 12 months).
- Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
