<p>One graduate teaching assistantship at the MSc level is available in the Che Lab, Department of Animal and Avian Sciences, University of Maryland, beginning in Spring 2026.</p>
<p>The selected student will be advised by Dr. Sunch Che, Assistant Professor of Poultry Graduate Management.</p>
<p>Research topics include improving hackyard and small-flock poultry health and biosecurity. The selected graduate student will lead all aspects of their research projects), including:</p>

<li>Developing survey questions using Qualtrics</li>
<li>Analyzing data from the survey</li>
<li>Developing fact sheets and infographics</li>
<li>Preparing manuscripts for publication</li>
</ul>
<h2>Eligibility Requirements for University of Maryland Masters Scholarship</h2>
<p>To be considered for the University of Maryland Masters Scholarship, you must:</p>
<ul>
<li>Undergraduate GPA: 3.0 or higher on a 40 scale.</li>
<li>English Proficiency (for caching assistant roles) for international applicants;
<ul>
<li>IELTS: Overall score of 7 (Listening 7, Reading 7, Writing 7, Speaking 7.5)</li>
<li>TOEFL Total score of 95 (Listening 24, Reading 26, Writing 24, Speaking 24)</li>

<li>Experience handling livestock, including broiler chickens</li>
<li>Proficiency in IT or Python programming languages (preferred)</li>
<li>Publications in peer-reviewed journals and/or abstracts submitted to and presented at conferences (preferred).</li>
